Administrator’s Bi-Weekly Review For Two Weeks Ending October 24th, 2026

Continued Dedicated Service to Our Community
This bi-weekly news release is tipping into a tri-week effort, so I apologize for the delay, and I will probably be brief. My considerable focus over this period has been RHTP related, both in cementing the kick-off of our formal request for proposals of our telehealth services in the ED – part of the PrairieLINK CIN initiative with Stormont Vail, but mostly with the preparation of a Capital Improvement grant for our Ambulance Bay renovation and our OR expansion effort, as part of the RHPT Year 2 opportunity. This grant is due in nine days, and I feel it is coming along quite nicely, as we are getting significant support from a hired consultant, Witt O’Brien. The Ambulance Bay will be shared by an outpatient Geropsyche service, as well as an expanded Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department. We are requesting in the budget some other capital items which support those functions: new boilers, an updated Telemetry system, and a water pressure booster, all items in need of replacement that will directly support the entire hospital, as well as these renovated areas.
As the mid-term elections are suddenly behind us, I hope the results of such can serve as a long-needed jolt to promote more levelheaded conversations across our bitter party divide. That is my high road wish which I am not overly confident about, but one we could all benefit from. Just have some humility Mr. Trump. There is a lot at stake and at risk these days, so working together is the best way to secure our future.
In earlier saying I may be brief today, following the above election comment, I better stop and sign out. We have a lot to be grateful for here in the Flint Hills of Kansas, yet we know there are hardships that we should be able to relieve as a community. I thank all of our staff for their commitment to our patients’ well-fare, and that is a great place to start.
Have a great next two weeks…or is it only one before I am back at you?
