Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy

Morris County Hospital Rehab Center has trained and certified therapists on staff to assist you.
Our highly credentialed staff, with many years of professional experience, stay up to date on the most current techniques and evidence-based practices.

Our Facility

Conveniently located within the Morris County Hospital, our facility offers both inpatient and outpatient care and includes a heated pool for Aquatic Therapy.

Our Commitment to You

The goal of the Morris County Hospital Rehab Center is to provide quality care with an emphasis on individual, personalized service. Rest assured, our highly trained staff is constantly learning, applying, and practicing the most modern and successful methods in the physical and occupational therapy fields.

Your return to good health is our common goal.

Our Patient Care Program

Each patient will receive a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, and/or speech-language pathologist. Based on the evaluation, the therapist will determine the appropriate, individually-tailored program and provide extensive patient education. Each therapist works with the patient to create an understanding of their condition and the recognition that the best treatment plan rarely stops with the final clinical visit.

EVALUATION

On the first visit, patients will receive a comprehensive evaluation that will likely take 30-60 minutes and will identify any limitations and impairments that may be affecting overall function.

ESTABLISH GOALS

Together with the therapist, goals will be determined specific to each patient to:

  1. Restore maximum function

  2. Increase the speed of recovery

  3. Prevent re-occurrence

  4. Promote long-term health and wellness

TREATMENT

A specific treatment plan will consist of one-on-one patient-to-therapist interaction with approximately 1-hour sessions. Private patient rooms, along with a large gym area, will provide patients with respect and comfort during treatments. Treatments may consist of, but are not limited to, therapeutic exercises and/or activities, manual techniques, modalities, and home instruction.

EDUCATION & WELLNESS

An important component of treatment plans includes teaching patients how to take care of themselves and to prevent future injury. The patient is an equal part of the team and should participate in the treatment given. Wellness is the key to a future that is pain-free, giving one the freedom of movement to live your life to its fullest.

Physical Therapy

Broadly, physical therapy involves the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of “movement dysfunctions.” A PT will examine patients and develop treatment plans that promote mobility, pain reduction, restoration, and prevention.

Physical Therapy
Occupational Therapy

In its simplest terms, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations).

Wrist Brace
Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy is so much more than just “talking.” Speech Therapy is an extensive field that can benefit all ages, from birth to adult. Speech Therapy addresses cognition (memory, orientation, sequencing, executive functioning, medication management), speech-language disorders (adult and children), voice disorders, and swallowing difficulties.

Speaking Practice
Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation is an individualized and personalized treatment plan designed for patients with specific heart conditions. Cardiac Rehab will include evaluation and instruction on physical activity, nutrition, stress management, and other health-related areas.

Treadmill
Aquatic Therapy

Experienced therapists are waiting to help in a state-of-the-art facility featuring an underwater camera system, Assisted entrance and exit, Temperature-controlled environment, Removable floor for depth control, and water currents with variable speed.

Swimming Together
Women’s Health Physical Therapy

Women’s health physical therapy encompasses a variety of health care issues specific to women and the reproductive system. Morris County Hospital Rehab Center Women’s Health program focuses treatment on the specific needs of women in order to help them regain their well-being and active lives.

Fitness for future mothers
Vital Stim Therapy

Vital Stim Therapy is used in conjunction with traditional oral motor exercises in order to strengthen swallowing muscles and improve overall swallow function. Often times, patients regain their swallowing ability faster and more thoroughly than with traditional dysphagia techniques.
