MCH Employee's Participate in Community Events Providing
Education and Support to our Friends and Neighbors
Relay for Life: Relay for Life is a national fund raising event for Cancer Research. Every year a team from Morris County Hospital participates in the local event.

October is Breast
Cancer Awareness Month and the
Mammography Department at Morris County
Hospital wanted to do its part in
raising awareness with a month of
events.
This year’s theme
was: "Diggin for a Cure."
The month began
with the 3rd annual Pumpkin
Decorating Contest. Sixteen
Departments participated in decorating a
Breast Cancer themed pumpkin for public
display in the MCH Lobby. The
public judged the pumpkins. There were
107 votes.
The winning pumpkins were 1st
place Morris County Health Department, 2nd
place Chase County Family Health Center,
3rd Place MCH Discharge
Planning.
On October the 8th
Corky Messer, Deanna Buttrey and Amy
Mayhill (MCH Radiology) took an
awareness booth to the Lady Braves
Volleyball Invitational. Were
approximately 200 awareness pins were
given out to the public.
On October 12th
the Radiology Department hosted an Open
House for its new Digital Mammography
Program with 38 people attending.
The attendees were able to see the new
machine and a comparison of the
difference in the imaging technology.
The Morris County Auxiliary served
refreshments.
The last event of the month was the
Cupcake Wars. Employees
baked a dozen or more cupcakes
and entered them for judging. Best
Taste was won by Jenae Hill (MCH
Business Office) and Best Presentation
was won by Ashley Hinkson (Morris County
Health Department). Judges for the
event were Rick Paul (Foundation Board
Member) Bob Price (MCH Radiology) and Karson Craig (MCH Physical Therapy).
After judging employees of MCH paid by
donation to eat the cupcakes raising
$100.00 dollars for the Susan G Komen
Passionately Pink Program and $53.00
dollars for MCH Relay for Life Team.
We ate cupcakes and saved a life!
The Raffle for the
Breast Cancer cooler was held throughout
the month and the winner was Allyson
Oliva. This event raised $74.00
dollars for the MCH Auxiliary softer
mammogram program.
It was a busy month
and a time to honor those we have lost
to breast cancer. A time to bring
awareness to the possibility of early
detection and saving lives.
